Geological Approach for Landfill Site Selection: A Case Study of Vršac Municipality, Serbia

One of the biggest problems environmental protection in Serbia is landfills. It often a case that economic interests are predominant landfill sitting; thus, most landfills not located according to standards. This study shows detailed geological data assets combined with geographical modeling represents reliable way define and locate site. Geological evaluation discussed detail regard bedrock lithology, quaternary geology, structure, hydrogeology, surface runoff patterns, topography.
